Description
The well-known premier cru Clos du Roy is mostly compiled of clay and marl with small limestones and covers an area of around 2.5 hectares, which, allegedly, is the best Terroir in Mercurey. Having spent 16 months in 228l barrels, this is spicy, and rich with oak (20% new) but certainly not overpowered by it. The fruit is very citrus and the closely knit texture means this is a wine that will age incredibly well provided temptation is resisted long enough. Still unfiltered at time of tasting. *Limited Availability* so be quick!
