Description
The Piedmont region in Italy is home to the famous appellation, Barolo, which is situated between Langhe and Monferrato. Barolo is known for its excellent wine made primarily of the Nebbiolo grape, which expresses the tradition and history of the region.
This specific Barolo is made with great care, using hand-harvested grapes that are carefully sorted upon reception at the winery. The fermentation process takes three weeks at temperatures between 25-30c. The wine is matured for a total of 38 months, with 18 months being in a traditional wood barrel called Botti. The effort put into the creation of the wine is clear in the complex notes, texture, and firm, sweet tannins that are exuded by the finished product.
The rich and full Barolo boasts several flavors, including plum, red fruits, fruit compote, cedar, eucalyptus, tobacco, and leather, and finishes with a toasted balsamic flavor.
